Language Study Hall FAQs

What is Language Study Hall?

Language Study Hall is additional second language acquisition support and homework help offered to students in Spanish and French Dual Language Classes in Grades 2-3.

At this time, the focus is on Anglophone/English speaking students selected based on the recommendations of their classroom teachers.

What are the dates/times?

Language Study Hall are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:45pm-3:45pm. Ms. N. Rodriguez facilitates Spanish Study Hall in Room 310. Ms. Dubois facilitates French Study Hall in the Library. Parent volunteers are also available to provide assistance.

What is the student to teacher ratio?

The average teacher to student ratio is 1 teacher to 15 students. The groups are a combination of 2nd and 3rd graders.

What materials are provided?

Teachers assist students with their Spanish/French homework and provide additional shared reading and writing activities to allow students additional opportunities to practice the language and build their confidence with learning a second language.
