You’re Invited to a Parent Workshop…

Join us on WEDNESDAY APRIL 25th from 5:00 – 7:00pm for a parent workshop on BUILDING EQUITABLE COMMUNITIES

The session will be facilitated by THE HUMAN ROOT – an organization which has been working with PS 133 teachers, staff and school administrators on anti-bias education and training for the past several months. The intention of this workshop is to have parents gain a deeper connection to the equity work happening at PS 133 and other schools throughout Brooklyn. Parents define equity and equality, types of power, race and racism. Time is spent reflecting on how equity and social justice can be cultivated. Participants are asked: What does it mean to develop spaces where consciousness, accountability and vision can thrive in a multicultural community?

FREE childcare and pizza with advance sign up.  Please RSVP by April 20.

About The Human Root

Build Community Partnerships

THE HUMAN ROOT supports communities in bridging cultural gaps as a means to create, improve, and sustain relationships in service and learning communities. We understand that systems of inequity divide people, preventing them from successfully working to their highest potential. We work to create space for communities to understand cultural differences, and honor the wealth of diversity that exists in their community.

As Community Partners, we provide experiences for people to expand consciousness, accountability, and vision. We believe acknowledging societal discriminatory behavior and systems with the desire to thrive on equity (“everyone gets what they need”) positively influences communities to move from empathy to action.

We work with communities that want to engage in the development needed to manifest transformation and growth. By using social and emotional learning as our foundation, we offer experiences in interactive and engaging methods that address conflict and social toxicity. Our tailored Community Action Plan utilizes workshops, trainings and retreats to provide these services.

Building Anti-Bias Frameworks into the Environment for People at Work

THE HUMAN ROOT supports communities in bridging cultural gaps as a means to create, improve, and sustain relationships in service and learning communities. THE HUMAN ROOT uses human connection and social and emotional learning as a framework to contextualize and dismantle systems that divide people, while highlighting the similarities that connect all people in their humanity.
