Native Landscape Planting Day

Event Chair: Shea Dean

DETAILS:

Calling all nature lovers! On Saturday, May 12, we will be filling the flower beds around PS 133 with more than 700 perennials, grasses and shrubs native to Brooklyn’s original maritime and woodland landscapes. Not only will these plants beautify the school grounds, but they will provide needed habitat to birds and butterflies and teach our students about local flora and fauna. But we need your help to make it happen. We are seeking volunteers to pick up plants on Friday, May 11, and to work one or more two-hour shifts on May 12. We will provide games and activities for young children on Planting Day!
