Please read our FAQs about the DOE’s updated Kindergarten Admissions Process. We hope this answers your questions concerning DLP (Dual Language Program) language preferences and acceptances for both native speakers and anglophones. Read the FAQS here.

Pre-Kindergarten

Children can start kindergarten in the calendar year they turn five. Elementary school spans kindergarten through grade 5. It will be handled by the NYC Department of Education. It is a centralized application process and each school has little involvement in it.

The application form will be available online in the spring on the DOE’s website. We will also have paper copies in the school office at PS 133. Registration is open until late early March. If you are accepted, you will receive your acceptance letter to the Pre-K program in June.

If you are interested in a Spanish or French Dual-Language Pre-K for the 2015-16 school year, apply for PreK through the DOE and upon acceptance, parents will be asked to indicate a priority ranking for their preferred program (Spanish or French). You can read more about this program here.

Kindergarten

Current School Year

PS 133 is a choice school for children from both District 13 and District 15, with priority given to English Language Learners (ELL) and students eligible for Free and Reduced Price Lunch (FRPL). Please contact Parent Coordinator Mr. Dickerson at (718) 857-4810 or [email protected] to inquire.

To apply for Kindergarten, you have to complete the city’s kindergarten application process. Read more about it here.

Finally… if you aren’t sure which school district you live in, go to the NYC Department of Education School search page at http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/FindZonedSchool.htm. You can also call the District 13 office at (718) 636-3204 or the District 15 office at (718) 935-3900. The main DOE website has lots of other information about the city’s schools and the application process. It is at http://schools.nyc.gov.

Pre-Kindergarten

El plazo de registro para la clase de Pre-K.

Esto será manejado por el Departamento de Educación de Nueva York. Se trata de un proceso de aplicación centralizada y la escuela no tiene mucha participación en ello.
El formulario de solicitud estará disponible en la pagina web del DOE. También tendremos copias en la oficina de la escuela PS 133. La inscripción está abierta hasta principios de marzo. Si su hijo o hija es aceptado, recibirá una carta de aceptación al programa de Pre-K en junio.

Si usted está interesado en el programa de lenguaje dual (DLP) español o francés de Pre-K debe solicitar una plaza de Pre-K en PS133 a través del DOE. Una vez sea aceptado en la escuela, y reciba la carta de aceptación, se les pedirá a los padres que indiquen por orden de prioridad su programa de preferencia (español o francés). Kindergarten

Año escolar actualPS 133 es una escuela de elección para los niños de ambos el Distrito 13 y el Distrito 15, que tiene prioridad para los estudiantes que aprenden inglés como segundo idioma (ELL) y los estudiantes que cualifican para comida libre y reducido (FRPL). Puede solicitar plaza de Kinder para el año escolar actual (2016-17) si su hijo cualifica estas condioniones.
